A Rússia voltou a ameaçar a Ucrânia e o Ocidente com o uso de armas nucleares nesta terça-feira, 27. O “alerta” foi lançado por Dmitry Medvedev, vice-presidente do Conselho de Segurança da Rússia, aliado do presidente Vladimir Putin.
A advertência de Medvedev difere das anteriores, pois ele previu pela primeira vez que a aliança militar da Otan não arriscaria uma guerra nuclear, mesmo se Moscou atacasse a Ucrânia com armas nucleares.
“Acredito que a Otan não interferiria diretamente no conflito, mesmo neste cenário”, disse Medvedev, em uma publicação no Telegram. “Os demagogos do outro lado do oceano e na Europa não vão morrer em um apocalipse nuclear.”

Hoje, os referendos promovidos pela Rússia em quatro regiões ocupadas na Ucrânia entraram em seu quinto e último dia. A votação começou na sexta-feira 23, nas regiões separatistas pró-Rússia de Donetsk e Lugansk (leste) e nas áreas ocupadas em Kherson e Zaporíjia (sul).
Analistas ouvidos pela agência de notícias Reuters sugerem que as novas ameaças são projetadas para deter a Ucrânia e o Ocidente, sugerindo uma prontidão para usar armas nucleares táticas para defender o território recém-anexado, onde as forças russas enfrentaram fortes contraofensivas ucranianas.
