A Polícia Federal deflagra na manhã desta quarta-feira (22) a Operação Sequaz. O objetivo é desarticular uma organização criminosa que pretendia realizar ataques contra servidores públicos e autoridades, incluindo homicídios e extorsão mediante sequestro, em pelo menos cinco unidades da federação (RO, PR, DF, MS e SP).
“Foi investigado e identificado um plano de homicídios contra vários agentes públicos (dentre os quais um senador e um promotor de Justiça). Hoje a Polícia Federal está realizando prisões e buscas contra essa quadrilha. Meus cumprimentos às equipes da PF pelo importante trabalho”, disse o ministro da Justiça, Flávio Dino.
De acordo com as investigações, os ataques poderiam ocorrer de forma simultânea, e os principais investigados se encontravam nos estados de São Paulo e Paraná.
Cerca de 120 policiais federais cumprem 24 mandados de busca e apreensão, sete mandados de prisão preventiva e quatro mandados de prisão temporária em Mato Grosso do Sul, Rondônia, São Paulo e Paraná.
O nome da operação se refere ao ato de seguir, vigiar, acompanhar alguém, devido ao método utilizado pelos criminosos para fazer o levantamento de informações as possíveis vítimas.
