    Deputados se mobilizam para evitar a queima de dragas e garimpeiros liberam a Estrada do Belmont Presidente Alex Redano e deputado Jesuíno Boabaid irão à Brasília, negociar o fim da queima do material de garimpagem no rio Madeira

    A Estrada do Belmont, no encontro com a Avenida Farquhar, no bairro Nacional, em Porto Velho, foi liberada por garimpeiros que protestavam contra ações da Polícia Federal e do Ibama, que resultaram na queima de dragas, balsas e equipamentos usados na atividade garimpeira, no rio Madeira.
    O presidente da Assembleia Legislativa, Alex Redano (Redano), desde o primeiro momento se mobilizou para tentar uma saída para o impasse, por entender que a queima das dragas é uma ação inaceitável. Ele determinou que o advogado do Legislativo, Doca Santos, e demais assessores, fizessem o acompanhamento do caso.
    “Estamos preocupados com a situação de tensão e com as ações de queima de dragas, que considero uma ação abusiva, pois não há nenhum devido processo legal e direito de defesa. Se há alguma irregularidade, que o equipamento seja apreendido e que o seu dono possa se defender e apresentar seus argumentos. Vamos tentar em Brasília uma audiência com os órgãos federais, para tentar uma saída”, explicou Redano.
    O deputado Jesuíno Boabaid (PSD) também se mobilizou e participou nesta sexta-feira ( 14), de uma reunião com o subprocurador do Ministério Público do Estado, Eriberto Barroso, junto com representantes do Governo e uma comissão de garimpeiros. No encontro, o parlamentar apresentou a proposta de, junto com o presidente Alex Redano, buscar em Brasília uma reunião com as autoridades federais, visando por fim ao impasse.
    “A intenção é levar a situação dos garimpeiros e buscar, ao menos, suspender essas operações, que geram enormes prejuízos à atividade garimpeira e também ao meio ambiente, pois a queima de dragas gera explosões e libera óleo, detritos e material que causa impacto ambiental e precisa ser levado em conta”, explicou Boabaid.
